Black Horse deposit has an Inferred Resource Now 85.9 Million Tonnes @ 34.5%
Just a few comments with respect to the potential of using slurry pipeline (rather than RR) for transporting chromite ores from the RoF to the south
1. PGM: Unlike the NOT Eagle Ni Deposit (PGM in this deposit is lucrative), KGW did not seem to pay too much attention to PGM, since the PGM level in KWG chromite deposit is low, at least as indicated in the NI-43-101 report by SGB. I have not seen the data for BH on PGM, but I would assume that it would be low as well (if the level were high then BOL would have released some news on the discovery of PGM...noting that Nemis is very keen on Ni and PGM, 80% for BOL, but KWG would only have 20%).
2. Main focus: KWG's focus is to dig up the high-quality chromite ore from the ground and transport it to the south, for processing (in a gas-powered furnace) and sell them in tonnes. It's not the focus of KWG to extract chromite from tailings. The Big Daddy ore grade is quite high and can be qualified to be transported out and sell as lumpy ore (~1 cm). That brings up the question about "particle" size for transporting in the slurry pipe.
3. Abrasion of slurry pipe: This is dependent on the the shape and size of the particles to be transported and process piping designer would need to be very careful to protect the integrity of the pipe (expensive, say ~$300-500M for a 300km pipeline). The pipe would need to be coated with abrasive resistant material on the inside, and suitably insulated for the harsh conditions (low temperatures) in Northern Ontario.
4. End result: The ore is transported in slurry form (wet ore) to the other end, say Nakina, where it is de-watered and dried up in a gas-powered dryer for sale, as DSO, or for further processing in a gas-powered conversion facility nearby. The recovered water from the drying process could be pumped back for re-use.
My take of the situation, as a non-expert in pipeline transportation.
