Message: Noront Resources Provides Update on Eagle's Nest Mine

merjr,

You are correct. The current air strip can clearly be seen on Google Earth. They (NOT and CLF) were planning a new one. Don't remember if they just want extend the runway and upgrade it, or start building a brand new near by (the air strip is to bring in supplies/including groceries, and to ferry the workers back and forth between RoF and the south. They also plan to build a accomodation facility/including some basic stores for the workers. Some details are described in CLF plan for BT mine (and perhaps NOT plan for Eagle Ni mine). That was then, when CLF was an active player.

Now, there is an option to build the airstrip and facilities for the workers, on the Koper Lake claims, in collaboration with KWG. This is going to be a transportation hub/staging area, especially when the RR is available, for the companies in the area.

There is a winter airstrip on Koper Lake and NOT (the original NOT, with Nemis) has brought up drilling equipment using Hercules C-130. There some videos available on YouTube, just Google C-130 landing (and take off) on ice at Koper Lake, if you are interest...Some interesting scenery/condition in Northern Ontario.
