I very much doubt if they have or expect any sort of Govt financial assistance. Firstly because it is 'unproven' new technology, secondly because the application process would take too long, and thirdly, the company is not in any preferred category such as 'under 25 yrs old' a manufacturer wanting to improve methods, or a visible minority individual.

After they have done a larger scale trial they might be eligible for some sort of tax relief, based on costs of the research & development.
