Message: Ontario Establishes Ring Of Fire Infrastructure Development Corporation

Right. We now have a "Development Corporation". Better yet, an "Infrastructure D. C.". Don't hold your breath, though.

The initial focus will be deciding who will participate in their decision making -"The board will put the necessary structures in place in order to allow for partners to determine their participation in the corporation."

After they send out invitations to their chosen participants, the focus will be "to formalize partnerships through the corporation, and overseeing an economic and technical baseline feasibility report on transportation infrastructure." So hopefully they will include the much anticipated Deloitte Report as part of this 'baseline report'. Some of the work has been done, but expect various interest groups to argue against any part of Deloitte's recommendations they don't like.

"As participation in the corporation evolves," -- this certainly makes me think of an extremely long time frame.

"In its mature state, the corporation will be in a position to advise on crucial infrastructure investment decisions," Like, at some point, settling the question of road or rail for heavy duty transport. If that decision only comes when the Corp is 'mature', there will almost certainly be smaller light duty roads built by that time, which by my guess will be years, not months, from now.

It has taken months to put together a Board of 4 public servants to start the ball trundling along.

All that pessimism could be blown away at any time, as once the ROF is no longer regarded as 'stranded' things will change very rapidly, and money will be available from miners etc. If that east-west road goes in, with NOT's EA, everything will be seen in a different light.

I am hoping CLF gets an offer for its chromite. Doesnt matter who, though I'd like to see KWG get a controlling interest in Big Daddy, that will cost money KWG doesn't have. In any case once CLF is out, Mr Gravelle might have to acknowledge the existence of a certain so far unmentioned other company, and the viability of their proposals..
