Message: Re: Ring of Fire funding a must with or without feds

Thanks Luker. It sure is good that you continue to find current news that focus on the most important and obvious reasons to invest in The Ring of Fire. Economical, social and environmental minded development of it's transport infrastructure will help propel Ontario into prosperity.

While employees and investors of companies like Norton, KWG and Bold go through this most challenging period, perspective it easily lost.

Jeff Labine's article, "Ring of Fire funding a must with or without feds" clearly shows that Northern Development and Mines Minister Michael Gravelle and his government still have not grasped priorities.

Translated, it means publicly baiting the Federal Conservatives to invest in infrastructure by the Ontario Liberals is a wasted effort at this point.

At the same time, "The critical path here, is not necessarily the deal between the private companies," Moe Lavigne said. "The critical path here is a commitment by both the First Nations and the government of Ontario to develop [a] regional infrastructure network that everybody's happy with." Lavigne said the next step should be the province and First Nations finalizing a deal on moving forward.

During that commitment process, if Ontario and First Nations selected a hybrid model of a "transportation authority" instead of a "development corporation", as recommended by their own Northern Policy Institute, the Federal Government would guarantee ROF bond interest rates and that would foster 3P funding. The ONTC could then be made into a non-share capital corporation similar to Canada's Port and Airport Authorities.
