"...Another graphite explorer, Alexander Stewart's Xmet Inc. (XME) is thinking about diamonds. Xmet, unchanged at nine cents on 149,000 shares, has identified possible kimberlite targets on it Blackflake property, near the Zenyatta Ventures Ltd. (ZEN: $3.26) graphite find at Albany. Xmet spent the winter flying and evaluating geophysics over Blackflake. Mr. Stewart, CEO, says the work revealed "multiple potential kimberlite targets of interest for being potentially diamond bearing." XME's new diamond consultant apparently cut through that fudge and the company plans ground geophysics over the anomalies. Finding diamonds in the Albany region would not be a surprise. The De Beers Canada Victor diamond mine lies about 200 kilometres northwest along a lengthy trend of diamond-bearing kimberlite pipes. A second pipe trend, about 100 kilometres farther west, supported a major diamond promotion led by KWG Resources Inc. (KWG: $0.075) through the mid-1990s. As well, Chuck Fipke'sMetalex Ventures Ltd. (MTX: $0.10) plans a 10,000-tonne bulk sample of its U2 pipe, in the same district. Meanwhile, Xmet continues seeking graphite on its flexible Blackflake project. The company just wrapped up a four-hole drill program that tested geophysical targets favourable for graphite."
