Mike 62,

Agreed, that would keep the pressure on the politicians.

Also, agreed with Al Coutts that NOT project is now the front runner (with EA report completed) and should serve as an example of resouce development of Ontario North.

Start small with Ni first then expand to chromite when all the pieces fall into place. It's mainly permitting (EA) and cooperation from the FNs. The money required to build the NS RR is not that much. $2B is chump change for major mining & railroad companies and large pension funds. Government support would be welcome and expedite the process, but government money could be used outside the RR scope, as part of the infrastructure package for RoF and beyond. Future extension of the RR could cover De Beers Victor Mine, Attawapiskat to complete the loop at Moosonee to link this ring of railroad (RoR) to a future Port of Moosonee? There was an award winning proposal for the Port of Moosonee (student form U of Toronto, School of Architecture...2009?) I have forwarded this article to Premier Wynne for her information. Hope that the idea can float above the decision makers' radar. It's a very comprehensive proposal. You might want to have a quick read and forward your thought to Premier Wynne as well. Let's hope that the vision of "nation-building" is on top of the Prov and Fed political agenda.

Quote, Al Coutts, NOT CEO: "...he thinks the region would be better served by opening a couple of smaller, manageable operations and getting a bit of success under its belt first. One of those could be Noront’s Eagle’s Nest deposit, a base metal project with a far smaller footprint than the massive operation that Cliffs is talking about."

Cheers... it's time to bring in the New Year!
