This from Noront's release in 2011
"At the end of the winter road from Eagle's Nest to Webequie Junction, an all season road is proposed to connect Webequie Junction to Highway #808 north east of Pickle Lake. This proposed route generally follows the existing Ministry of Natural Resources winter road corridor thereby limiting the environmental impact. This route will allow truck haulage of concentrate to the proposed rail facility."
The first step would be this short section of winter road, before starting the all weather upgrade of the rest of the route.
From Webequie Junction to the ROF is not far, so this seems a reasonably cheap extension of an existing winter road. I suppose this will need Environmental approval, but it is included in their original project description.
If approved and constructed, drilling costs for the ROF should go down for KWG, and of course bulk samples become much simpler to transport.
