Ferro Chrome Price 2.20 USD/kg (1.63 EUR/kg) 24 Sep 2013 - 52 Week Low 2.20 USD/kg 52 Week High 2.75 USD/kg
This is down from around 2.75 a year ago, but is still not bad. $2,200/ton.
Chromite is less, at around $330 to $400 per ton (FOB S. Africa) depending on type/end use, for 46% Cr203 wet bulk. Again not bad, especially for minimal sorting (gravity?) and shipping. Less for lower grades, with 40% or better desirable.
To keep things in perspective, the Black Horse deposit has 43 million tons of 37.5% chromite inferred. To get a grade of 46% for direct shipping ore would require some selection & sorting, but should be feasible at low cost on site.
CLF is saying 'low prices may make the ROF uneconomic' ?
