BJ, someone mentioned to me that you had posted this so I felt compelled to respond.
I appreciate your comments & criticisms as they help to contribute to making this event fun for everyone, which is my ultimate goal. And that's why I expanded this event into a dinner and invited out some musician friends of mine in the early years to play for free for the group. Okay, we gave the band dinner and some prizes. They were a young group of jazz students, who have now progressed to places like Berklee College in Boston, USC in California and other high end music faculties. These kids are the future of jazz and we got them for a dinner.
This year, I decided to hire a country band as most were getting tired of the jazz and wanted to kick up their heels a bit. And I've managed to get one of the best in Niagara.
BJ, you said that you can see a band anytime. Maybe so, but not like the ones I've provided and certainly not for free. Next year, I'm going even bigger.
And I have to address your comment about the golfers getting all the info. That just isn't true. I would think that you'd get more info. sitting at the same dinner table with one of the execs. than on the golf course. But you could also get that from just calling their office.
Believe me when I say that these guys give out nothing that you couldn't access by calling them at the office. You know what we really talk about on the golf course ? Golf, mostly.
If you are planning on attending for dinner this year, BJ, please PM me and we'll set you up.
Respectfully,
strato
