Another lengthy article about the Ring of Fire and the potential environmental hazzards of chromite mining.
However, the reporter and Mining Watch forgot to mention that environmental regulations in 21st century Ontario are much stronger than in the Sukinda Valley of India which has been mining chromite since the 1960s.
There are many legacy issues in India and their environmental regulations probably did not exist 50 years ago, just as there are past issues from a 130 years of mining nickel in the Sudbury Basin.
