'registering your approval' and 'giving stars' on these forums means you go to a post by the member who you 'approve of' and rate them where it says 'your vote' next to the avatar image at the top. High approval would be 5 stars, low 1 star. Click on the stars to register your rating. This can be important because a low average star rating will bring the poster's rank down, perhaps from President to Treasurer, which in turn will cut back their posting, messaging, and other privileges on the site. The practice of giving low ratings to people who are positive about a stock is frequently used by those working to drive the share price down, either for their own purposes or to help another company trying to takeover at as low a price as possible.

My own rank was driven from president to vice-president at the time when NOT & CLF were competing for FWR & SPQ. I posted about the high value of chromite & the relatively low gross in-ground value of NOT by comparison. This did not sit well with some people.
