Black Horse deposit has an Inferred Resource Now 85.9 Million Tonnes @ 34.5%
Hi LP: I was at the meeting.
First, the Capital Reorganization Resolution (and related Amended Articles Resolution) were postponed at an earlier date for voting, and the Meeting was adjourned at a later date to be announced, to vote on these two items.
Second, the Special Shares Resolution had to be voted by writing, because Cliffs' representative expressly asked for a ballot vote. This Resolution was defeated 162 016 244 votes FOR and 196 578 026 votes AGAINST. Or 45%/55% of votes reprented at the Meeting. (Note that Cliffs had around 120MM votes at the meeting!!!)
All other items at the agenda were voted unanimously.
Management will try to convince more shareholders to vote FOR the Capital Reorganization, and hope that more shareholders will attend the adjourned meeting since it will be held in Toronto.
My understanding from the discussions I had later with Frank Smeenk is that Cliffs was concerned with the potential dilutive effect of the Special Shares.
Bruce made an overview of the last year activities, and, while there was nothing new that we did not know, it was interesting to recall that a lot was achieved in 2011, Big Daddy earning, Sale of the NSR (18MM$ is far from small change!), FN relations, CCC (RR,PPP, FN on board...), DDI distribution, ...
Frank concluded the Meeting by the announcement of additional RR claims acquired for some 3MM shares and warrants.
From the informal mpost-meeting discussions with directors and fellow shareholders, I think that there is still hope that Big Daddy could be mined first or together. Chineeses are everywhere around, and have plenty of U$ dollars to be spent ('before they worth nothing'!!!), and the quality of the Big Daddy, direct shipping ore is first class...
I left the meeting with a feeling that 2012 should be very interesting, and could bring its lot of surprises...
I was more than happy to show support to our dedicated team of managers! These guys (and gals) show continuous respect to shareholder, so I think they deserve a little support from the base.
