Bet I got your attention! What, you ask, does Conrad Black have to do with KWG? Well, by being convicted of ripping off Hollinger and other shareholders, absolutely nothing that I am aware of. Definitely off-topic but it is a rainy East Coast afternoon and I am trying to bring some dialogue to the Board. With KWG closing at .085, not much can be said about that so I would like to offer, for what it is worth, my take on the Conrad Black saga that has been front page news for so long.
I am no fan of Conrad Black but feel he should be given time-served and sent back to the UK. I feel that the judge was being vindicative and he should have been further sentenced by another judge after his aquittal, etc. on some of the most damaging charges he faced. The only thing that might possibly tie him to KWG is the fact if this had all played out in Canada, I feel he would not have served even one day in jail and most likely, would not even been charged with the way our Canadian Securities Regularity Boards function. I feel the man served 29 months and is now publicly discraced and at age 66, should be released and allowed to live out the rest of his days by not being incarcerated. What can society gain, other than in the judge's remarks, making him a lesson to others in his position not to do likewise? I know at age 66, I certainly would not want to face the possibility of another 13 months behind bars. What do you think? rj
