Think I can add a little insight to your post?

Something like a Story - or a Fable, if you like:

"Your post makes me wonder who the REAL Scots are.

The Sods or the Mowers?

Here is where my thoughts take me:

Mr. Mower, I will give you my shares if only you will also take 2.6 times the Share Price (under the table - back room dealing sometimes equating to "Negotiations in Private" or "Being Smart" in terms of the Mower's support staff!).

Why?

Well? If I were to give you my shares at your asking price (be it known or NOT known to me to be a controlled SP) plus the 2.6 times the SP under the table (or by what ever termonolgy you so choose to call it) I could then have, as in keep for my self use, some of my hard earned savings so as to have something to something with. Like to live on, for instince. May need to find a part time job. But that should be none of your concern Mr. Mower. Should it!

Right!

But Mr. Mower thinks more along the lines of REAL Classical Economics Doctrine. Ricardian style on bad days and Neo-Smithian style on 'In the Zone' days. Thus Mr Mower concludes that seeing as he has to get my shares for the Depressed Share Price (which he, after all, has to pay to keep in place, until . . . ) currently in effect PLUS 3.7 times that SP under the Table (or what ever which way, just so long as he gets my hard earned savings as well, it really matters NOT to him how), OTHERWISE (note the WISE implication) he has no reliable manner quickly and reliably at hand to then have me Contract work from him, where by he can have me work, with out any additional cost to himself, under his conditions, if not purely at his whim, for less than the MINIMUM WAGE (recall this is contract work) and without providing any of the previously normal employee retention/incentive BENEFITS.

Too bad if you are NOT the Mr. . . .

And it is this method of Economic Modeling that has some (US and copy cats) EXACTLY WHERE once so called 'Citizens' have worked so very hard at allowing themselves to be.
