Parliament agrees to discuss Oyutolgoi agreement

Aftera discussion spanning almost the whole of Thursday, the plenary sessionof Parliament agreed by 39 votes to 13 to discuss the draft agreementon Oyutolgoi. The draft now goes back to the Standing Committee on theEconomy which will review the suggestions made at today’s session andthen return the draft to Parliament. All this will be after Naadam, andmost likely on July 14.
Themembers who voted against discussing the draft in its present formincluded D.Arvin (MPRP) and P.Altangerel (DP). Several MPs soughtinformation from the working group which had prepared the revised draft. http://en.news.mn/news/3065
