WRT the Junior markets, I would think that in the "investment game" you can never take the greedy speculative component out of it ever. There will always be an investor that wishes to find the next big play that is hugely undervalued or shall we say undiscovered. As such those stocks will be jewels in the rough and pay someone one day. The investor has to find merit and worth and then be prepared to bide his time once invested in such a find.
We know that base metals and precious metals are not renewable resources and as such there will always be majors looking to build reserves, either on their own or on someone elses dime. We just have to gauge growth and future demands in this cyclical sector. imho
