DJ Mirabela Nickel: Considering Potential Equity Raising

SYDNEY, Feb 09, 2009 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) -- Australian miner Mirabela Nickel Ltd. (MBN.AU) Monday said it's investigating a capital raising that could replace in whole or in part a mezzanine debt facility totaling US$80 million.
In response to an Australian Securities Exchange price query, the Perth-based company said financing for its Santa Rita nickel project in Brazil was almost complete.
Financing is split into senior debt of up to US$200 million and the mezzanine facility of up to US$80 million.
The senior debt is now syndicated, and the company is documenting commitments from the banks, expecting both facilities to be completed this month.
But following "considerable" interest from equity market participants, the company is currently investigating an "increasingly attractive" capital raising, Mirabela said.
