Focus: Silver Exploration, Production, and Growth
I am pretty much in agreement with the Trendsman on the analysis although I am looking for a breakout over the 0.88 level, a few cents more than the 0.85 mentioned. I also agree that it would be difficult for Impact to swim against the tide, so if silver continues pulling back here and the miners take a breather, then I wouldn't expect Impact to outperform in that situation.
In my opinion, this is a well-run, profitable, small-scale mining company with huge exploration/expansion potential. As they said in the press release, the company envisions multiple mills each being fed by multiple sources. Given the number of prospects in their database, this seems like a reasonable ambition. That said, the company has, in my experience, been more focused on running the business than promoting themselves. From the perspective of a long-term shareholder, this is a good thing. For anyone looking to trade the stock short-term, there may be better vehicles.
Impact generates enough cash flow to cover their exploration costs so the fact that they do not need to do financings may be making it harder for them to get coverage by institutions (who are looking for the goodies that go along with arranging financings). That may change if they get to the point where they want to build new, larger mills. At that point a financing may make sense but hopefully it will be at a much higher level than where we are now.
I look at it as a "back of the drawer" holding. Not one to provide much short-term excitement but one I don't have to spend any time worrying over either. And if silver eventually does what I think it will, Impact will be well-positioned at that time to take advantage of it. In the meantime, they are keeping their noses to the grindstone and banging it out. I get the sense that there is a lot more going on behind the scenes than they have chosen to let out, but that there could be some nice surprises down the road.
