Hanwei appoints new chief operating officer

	    VANCOUVER, Feb. 20 /CNW/ - Hanwei Energy Services Corp. ("Hanwei" or the
"Company") today announced that Mr. Huiping Hu has been appointed as Hanwei's
chief operating officer (COO) effective immediately. Mr. Hu brings over 20
years of experience in the Asian energy sector and a strong operations
background to Hanwei. As COO, Mr. Hu will report to Fulai Lang, President and
CEO of Hanwei, and will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations and
supporting the implementation of Hanwei's growth strategy.
	    "A key success factor for Hanwei has been our ability to recruit talented
managers, sales executives and technical experts from China's energy sector
for our FRP Pipe, Wind Power Equipment and FGD Systems business lines," stated
Fulai Lang. "Hanwei has reached a critical size where we need to coordinate
the growth strategy of our three operating divisions to achieve economies of
scale and make sure that we are allocating resources to the best investment
opportunities. Mr. Hu's extensive experience managing operations in China and
international markets will aide us in maximizing the efficiency of our
internal resources and systems and achieving continued profitable growth."
	    Mr. Hu has experience managing international Sino-foreign joint venture
operating companies as well as a keen understanding of engineering and
operations, financial management and reporting, procurement and marketing,
human resources, and contract control. Before joining Hanwei, Mr. Hu was the
General Manager of an international 50/50 joint venture operated by China
National Petroleum Company (CNPC) with some 700 employees. Prior to that, Mr.
Hu worked with another CNPC consortium, the Greater Nile Petroleum Operating
Company Ltd. in various engineering and managerial roles. Mr. Hu studied
business administration at the University of Houston and earned a Bachelor of
Science degree from the Jian Han Petroleum Institute in Hubei Province, China.
