Likely two different recipes (ingredient content) from the two different companies. 

If the silicon powders used for the HPQ battery were manufactured by the pilot plant this would also give a validation of the effectiveness of HPQ powders. But not sure if the powders used in these batteries currently going through the testing phase were manufactured by HPQ in their pilot plant.
