Hello Bernard,
Great news with that European cooperation on R&D!
I ,as a Belgian , indeed feel that Europe has to completely turn towards renewable energies away from fossils. Our gasaddiction is only making Putin rich and is destructive for our planet.
Hydrogen is a great store of energy when you use wind power and solar power, that stored energy can then be released during night(no sun) and during less windy weather.
In Spain tests are done to make hydrogen with pvpanels and the hydrogen is then stored on the roof in a tank.In winter then the hydrogen fuels a fuel cell unit in the house that delivers heat and electricity.
Beautiful, but dangerous,a 700 bar hydrogenbomb on your neighboursroof!!
I think we must look at a kind of hydrolysis heating system which uses silicon powder as the energycarrier and by dropping water in a controllable way on the silicon hydrogen is released that can feed a fuel cell that delivers heat and electricity.
Bernard, maybe the EBh2story is developing towards such a system but nevertheless Silicon has a great future in the European hydrogen economy of the future it is now to get the maximum out of it for our future generations.
