"Group 14 has not shared information on the cost of its material, though says it will be competitive with graphite when the improved performance is taken into account."

In other words... it's expensive... potentially 10x the perforamce means potentially 10x the price of graphite. Not a contender when HPQ is looking to deliver carbon coated nano-silicon that is near the same price as graphite alone.
