Does anyone know whether the PUREVAP TM NSiR can produce specific sizes of particles or whether it produces a range of sizes. i.e. can it produce 150 nM (+/- 5 nM) or does it produce a range of sizes, say between 100 nM and 200 nM, or 200 nM and 300 nM ?
I believe that this is what they are finding out right now... well, not so much finding out but perhaps more like "fine tuning". My understanding is that the process can produce any size from sub 100nM (we just found out) up to micron. We don't have details of the "setup" or the "process parameters" required to produce a specific sizes (likely trade secrets) but this is secondary. I would imagine that they can vary the power, feedstock size and speed, distances, temperatures... etc... they can produce whatever they want. The output size would resemble a bell curve with a "mean" size targeted along with a standard deviation of sizes on either side. After that it is just a matter of runing the output thruough "screens" for the size the customer wants. Just my opinion... all the best.
