Achieved final critical milestones, completing a successful silicon pour
Dear Renaissance,
Thank for posting your questions on Agoracom.
With regards to your question:
“ Do you intend to start selling high purity quartz during 2018 and bring an income in the company?”
The short answer is no.
Let me take this opportunity to explain why. Before starting the Purevap project with PyroGenesis we had seriously look at the possibility of implementing such a strategy, but we just could not make a viable business case for that.
The fact that starting a quarry is a low capital endeavour does not make it a good business venture.
History is full of public companies that have tried to sell the dream of generating cash flow from a small-scale type mining operation to self-finance the Company development and its just does not work like that.
We say this from personal experience, Uragold was one of them, and from the work, we had to do to get the project permitted and to try to finance the venture, we can tell you that for public companies in the resources sector, Small is not beautiful…
Especially now when the regulatory constraints for small projects are the same as for a big project…
Still not convinced, then just look at the only other junior involved in Quartz exploration, Rogue Resources Inc (RRS on the TSX.V) they have invested CAD $ 5,1 M to develop such a project (they call it Silicon Ridge) and they are still far away from generating any revenues from their project. Their market cap is about CAD$ 2M, their stock is dead because of permitting issues, and they have no blue sky left….
Heck, I believe that we will be generating revenues before RRS ever does… as our planning call for us to start generating sales in 2019 from the 200 TPA plant.
Now regarding the second part of our question:
“Do you intend to keep all the high purity quartz from Ronceveaux for the production of high purity silicon through Purevap?”
I cannot say for definitive at this time, it will depend on many variables that are still unknown to us.
This will also depend on the actual feedstock purity requirement of the Purevap reactors…
