What the story does not say is that China is building 150 new mega-coal fire power plants a year - every year for the next 10 years. From the facts in the article it seems that some will be needed to provide backup power for when the wind does not blow and the sun does not shine.

Despite the above it is still a good direction for solar power expansion and the silicon demand that will be needed to satisfy that expansion - so also a good thing for V.HPQ.
