The drill rig is on the property.
Will drilling start soon on Leitch/Sand River gold deposit property?
An aggressive drilling program will evaluate at least 14 drill targets on the Leitch-Sand River property based on review and assessment of previous drill results and current aeromagnetic survey information.
The initial program will drill the No. 16 vein system; the Creek vein zone, the hangingwall vein No. 2, and other untested geophysical and geochemical targets.
The No. 16 vein system contains five areas of interest that were exposed on surface and drilled to a shallow depth. Significant hole No. 16-12 returned 0.495 ounce per ton over 4.80 feet at a vertical depth of 50 feet below the surface. Historical mine records indicate that an average grade of 0.56 ounce per tonne were mined and milled from the 16th vein.
The Creek vein was originally exposed on the 8th level (900 feet) and graded 1.53 ounces per ton gold over 0.63 feet, with a strike length of 805 feet.
Significant intersections include:
Hole 87-34 intersected 0.156 ounce per ton gold over 56.0 feet, including an intersection of 0.250 ounce per ton gold over 43.2 feet;
Hole 87-24 intersected 0.123 ounce per ton gold over 25.3 feet;
Hole 87-37 intersected 0.131 ounce per ton gold over 11.9 feet.
