2. GOLDEN PREDATOR ROARS IN THE YUKON With Kaminak Gold and Atac Resources recently announcing significant gold findings in the Yukon, we thought it was only a matter of time before Golden Predator (GPD: TSX) could do the same. With one of the largest land packages in the Yukon and drills turning on six of the ten properties in their portfolio, there would always be ample opportunity for news flow here. There are two significant pieces of news to take note of. First, the company’s impressive property portfolio encompassing 700 square kilometers was recently almost doubled in size with the acquisition of six separate properties in the eastern Yukon known as the Rogue district. This takes GPD’s Yukon property portfolio to a total of 16. While drill targets likely won’t be set until 2011 on these six new properties, GPD is compiling historical data to plan drill targets for next year. The full press release can be seen here. The full press release can be found here. These are the types of results investors have been waiting for and helped the stock appreciate 25% higher on over 4 million shares traded yesterday.
In the recent research report we produced on GPD (found here) we stated
"
By building on the efforts of these early workers, GPD is well positioned to make a high-quality discovery once their exploration program begins."
Based on yesterday’s news from the company, this appears to have come to fruition. We now await results from GPD’s other Yukon properties where drills are turning and results should follow soon.
Golden Predator has established itself as a true discovery investment with assets in an emerging world-class gold belt, experienced management, and a growing property portfolio. While no tree grows to the sky, these aspects combined with intangibles such as stable geopolitics in the Yukon leave us believing there are more positive surprises to come from the company.
