The referendum thing (100,000 signatures) is, I believe, written into Swiss Law, so although only 1.5% signed, it is a victory of sorts (for whom?) to even get the topic to the population to think about and discuss. The result of the referendum is binding - not sure, but I think so?

Of course what the politicians and banksters and media do to play with the minds of the people remains to be seen.
