I spent over fifty years in the Construction and Engineering business. I learned the business from all aspects including conception, engineering, planning procuring and construction.

Yes, we experienced some problems sometimes, but there was always enough "brainpower" around to troubleshoot, revise and come up with an alternative means of approach in order to reach the end result.

Today in the finance business, everything seems to be "day-to-day". There doesn't seem to be a definitive goal. Everybody seems to be doing just enough so that the next fire doesn't get out of control.

Or am I barking up the wrong tree?
