I'm not sure what it says about others but my excuse is that in this negative interest rate environment dividend paying stocks are my only hope for financial survival in the absence of any pension income. Just sent a sizeable quarterly tax payment to the feds so that they can send their retirees their pension cheques. No doubt there are many thousands of retirees like me who are struggling to survive financially while supporting a massive bureaucracy about which we hear nothing but bad news. What a world!
