Message: WARRANTS LOSE OVER 50% OF THEIR VALUE TODAY.

Zipper: It would appear, from a limited look at Google, that companies generally don't announce any date extension until very close to the date named in the original creation of the warrant. That would mean that AUM wouldn't extend the date of these warrants until, probably, early in 2014. That would seem logical since any change requires regulatory approval and the regulator would presumably ask why, if the date was being extended early, the company was convinced that the share price was not going to increase over the time interval until the original expiry date.

I just Googled "warrant date extension" for the first time and found that someone has written a paper about the effect on the share price of an extension in a warrant date. Only the first page of an abstract is free, then you have to pay or sign up for something, so I moved on. But it appears that the fundamental finding is that such an extension results in an increase in the share price because it indicates the company's confidence that better days are ahead. Or something like that.
