Absolutely true, but is also true that after WW2 there has been a huge transformation of life in a very short time (to never stop transforming in the years after).

In fact, I just started this week to write down memories of my youth (mostly sixties) and of what my parents told me about WW2 and the pre-WW2 period (in Europe), because I am afraid that otherwise that info will get lost for future generations. At least my kids liked the idea. There may be lots of images (photo, film) of that period, but I have the feeling that there is not so much written about daily life and the impact of economic changes on daily life during that period. Not much "On the road" in Europe in those days.
