In my opinion, ALL company executives should be paid upon their performance.... not on their personal financial whims or last year's salary plus a cola clause.
If AUM executives (or for that matter any company executive) had any respect for their shareholders they would recognize shareholders pain and adjust their remuneration accordingly to the percentage their companies shares drop or go up in the market.
Let austerity begin at home.....
