Anyone who still has FIAT in the bank after reading at least two of the articles in Ed Steer's column, deserves everything they get.

Do yourself a big favour:

Get out of debt.

Buy bullion and take possession.

Buy PM shares and take possession of certs.

Deal as much as you can with cash.

Use bank sparingly for paying bills only. (never go overdrawn unless its in the Millions or Billions).

Stock up on non-perishable essentials.

The article hi-liting paying cash for (plumbing) services comes complete with a "dumbed-down" reply from a desperate politician, imo.
