Given the Europe issues, I expected the dollar to rise and everything else, including PM's to fall; I could also have seen gold treading water today, which I would have thought was pretty good,but what happened starting this morning when PM's took of like a rocket was very surprising to me.

GWR often says he doesn't predict day to day, or even week to week, movements, but feels as if he has a solid handle over what will play out over the next few years. That's the way to look at things, the day to day stuff is well beyond my grasp, and even my intuition, which is generally not too bad, is continually flummexed by this market.
