A smash of gold by $90" on a price of $1800 represents 5%, so I would not qualify that as a smash or hit, just a normal and expected retrace to provide breathing space before moving forward again. When the price is this high the actual dollar change is no longer as indicative as the percentage change.
There is to be some profit taking and some cought short need an opportunity for some recovery. That is all that I perceive.
Should it continue to 10% or more then I would say a Smash but this far I do not see it as such.
China and India have a steady demand for the metal and any 'Shock'type attempts by the west are bound to exhaust themselves in time. So they may be winning a temporary battles but lose the war.
