I am actually encouraged with what appears to be a decoupling trend in the last week or so - I certainly agree that it has been awful for many months. While today is not good, I still see the new trend, and hope that it can persevere and even strengthen.
As for the ECU earnings release, considering the merger, it's not too much more than just noise. As Argoz's posts illustrate, the revenue should have been pretty close to what he had projected earlier. There always will be one problem or the other, it seems. But with the cash influx that will be available to further develop the ECU properties, the volume of production should be raised such that the revenue will support higher stock prices. Of course, that assumes that we do not get bad news from the current deep drilling.
