A number of speakers at GATA London mentioned that the share of the totality of all global investments which is in PM shares is around 0.75% so, if only a few folk decide to get further in to the sector, watch out above.
In one of the panel Q&A sessions, I think it was the Chair, Peter Grandich, who commented that, if you discounted the investments represented in the room, you'd probably only be talking about 0.5%! There was very little dissention from that point of view. Given that Eric Sprott was sitting in the front row, it is hardly surprising that noone challenged that perspective! There was very little dissention around the prediction that a good PM share could appreciate 1000% (yes 1 + 3 zeros) if only a small percentage of investors wake up to the real world.
