Your statement, "the ridiculous entitlement bonanza for unproductive people in the US socialist state," is one that is obviously true. How large a part of the overall problem it is, I'm not sure, but surely it's significant. But it is far from an easy problem to fix. It may be that the cost to address it adequately is more costly than worthwhile.
As between people who pay with food stamps at the market and then you see them stuffing the groceries into their Mercedes, and the greedy investment bankers, I have to say the latter disgust me more. It's probably easier to deal with the bankers, too. The welfare system gamers are so widespread, that tackling them seems next to impossible.
But I sure would like to see us try. Given our technology, it seems it might be doable, if the majority of the people are willing to give up a little more privacy so that computers could nail those friggin cheats!! And most of us have unknowingly given up (or, really, had it taken) a lot more "privacy" than we can imagine. So, I'd be on board.
