'running the stops' has been operating on the US side for years, however I'm told that in Canada - the TSX is largely all electronic trading and that there are no market makers in the same way as there are in the US on the OTCBB, which has a pretty poor reputation. That was from a Canadian who seems to be fairly MM, aware having known one some time ago.

I personally never use stops, I make a commitment to spend cash on those issues I think have strong fundamentals for the long term, and stick with it, unless something's a complete deal breaker.

This with ECU, is all short term stuff.
