The buying of the pm's in Jan and Feb, was primarily from the Chinese, no doubt trying to protect themselves from the ravages of local inflation. I don't think that's likely to alter any time soon.

When we've had rises in the price of gold, more often than not it seems gold has risen along with the dollar. So a public declaration of ceasing QE won't alter that situation.

The pm's are globally traded commodities, at the moment the only way your savings can keep pace with the rising value of commodities like food oil and energy, is to have your investments sunk in those or other comodities.
