If anyone goes to exercise options they must pay the exercise price to the company to get the shares so obviously the stock price needs to be higher than the exercise price to get transacted. So if Altmann gets to exercsie his $3 options then the stock will have to be higher than this to make it worth his while. Hope this answers your question.
