I agree. These so called respected journalists have no idea what has happened in Egypt, because it is a totally new phenomenon, that does not fit in their old fashioned Cold War way of thinking and even worse, they don't have the right information. The young, liberal professionals behind the movement know they can get millions of people to the streets The military know this too. So if they don't allow reform and turn this in a military coup, they will have to fight the masses and will see soldiers take side with the people.

The initiators of the uprising have been working for years to build up their protesters networks. After Tahrir Square these networks are huge and very broadly supported. The media are wide open, corruption is already being tackled and every day things are being changed. Omar Suleiman is as good as buried and the army will also be scrutinized and will have to assume a back stage role. All these theories by the American military think tanks and their affiliated reporters really has the smell of mott balls. I also don't trust their independence given the tremendous power of the Israel lobby in the US. That totally blurs their independent view.

We'll see how things work out, but in my view this is an irreversable process towards better times.
