I have read some two weeks ago already, when the brotherhood wasn't yet visible at Tahrir Square, that the hardcore of the demonstrators and people around them wanted to study the Turkish and the French constitution to serve as possible role model for a new Egyptian constitution. Both Turkey and France are secular States, so in case Egypt adopts a similar constitution, the brotherhood would be limited in its power,if it were to win elections.
A comparison between Egypt and the other Arab countries does not make much sense IMO. Egypt has a well educated middle class and is far ahead of certain other Arab countries. A lot of its younger people have followed studies abroad, a.o. in the UK and the US. I think each of the Arab countries is pretty unique except for most of them having autocratic leaders one way (kings) or another (dictators).
