"So you think that the previous Democratic governments of Europe got it right?"

Getting it right does not exist in any democracy, only in totalitarian states.

All you have to realize is that Europe came from zero (zero wealth, everything destroyed) after WW2 and had only one goal: never again. So they are simply more willing to give and take to avoid what they have gone through twice (WW1 and WW2) and discuss any disagreement there is (which is the basis of our democratic principles). Also remember that only in 1989-90 Eastern Europe got freed from the Soviets, so another part of Europe wants to fight for those Democratic principles and prosper in a capitalist system.

Europe simply is in a different stage than the US. Only Britain (having a huge and disproportionate financial industry) is similar to the US and since they together control the financial media, it is easy to get a one-sided view.
