In general, I agree with most of what you say.

However, I believe the basis of the problem is not greed.

Greed is the effect, and one result of the cause.

The cause imho, is "usury".

Without it, greed would still exist, but it would be then subject to "black and white", i.e.

Owned or Stolen.

"Usury" brings the "grey" components into play, and makes greed subjective.

Until "usury" is abolished, greed will flourish, imho.
