I have a stink bid in at $1.08 and I noticed that very few orders were there along with me, just a few hours ago. It had me wondering if maybe I had placed my bid exactly at the spot that would have indicated a breakdown through some support level. I do not trade based on TA.
How nice to see the update and notice that there are now about 50,000 shares of buyers lined up behind me. I may not get filled on that stink bid, and I dont care. I own a chunk in my retirement account and want to see ECU trade higher. But what I want is irrelevant. I trade to make money on what the market will give me, and if I can get filled for more shares cheaply, and then happily vend them on the next spike, then life is good.
I know more than a few people who have been shaken out of their PM juniors during the last year, even as gold and silver make new highs. The reason? They could not deal with the volatility. Or to be more accurate, their fear overcame their greed. With all the bearish commentary out there, and all the bozos that get so much attention when they point out some obscure indicator they have dreamed up that shows the bull market is over, the little guy can look at the next downdip as the last chance to get out before the crash and they sell.
Use the volatility to your advantage and trade the dips. This applies to all juniors and is not specific to ECU. Pull up any chart and look how many great opportunities there have been to add cheap shares and cash in shortly after.
Maybe my stink bid will turn out to be a long term hold. Maybe ECU drops to 80 cents again. Maybe the real top for silver actually is in, and the media bozos finally got it right. I do not know. But I do know I have nearly $1 million invested in junior miners and I am not selling, so it makes sense then if I am committed to this sector to play like a winner and take advantage of opportunities.
Happy Turkey Day to my American friends. I will be in Mexico this week on a mine tour, and I am not sure if they serve turkey there...
cheers!
