I also, have tried to manoeuvre myself so that I do not become dependent on state-controlled pensions.

Yes, I paid all my CPP contributions which were mainly both employer and employee amounts.

Such is my own unwillingness to be under government control that I refuse to draw even CPP which I paid into since I joined in the beginning.

As for ethics, integrity, honesty, most government employees seem to lack these basic human traits, at least they seem to disappear the longer they stay involved with “other people’s money”.

I guess the phrase “entitled to one’s entitlements” sums up the government mindset.

Jim Sinclair summed ethics up very well when he criticized “Sarbanes Oxely” and asked the question;

“How can you legislate ethics?”

However, I do have one question that continuously “nags” at me.

Based on your statement of getting something for nothing, or “An honest days pay for an honest day’s work”, as my father used to say, how does one justify profiting from the stock market?
