There is an important reason why Germany won't bail out Ireland just at once. Earlier in the decade the Irish economy has been thriving on tax incentives for investing companies, particularly to attract foreign direct investment. That worked extremely well for the Irish economy. However, those lower taxes are still in place, so Germany and others are not going to ask their own taxpayers to take the Irish pain as long as companies in Ireland pay lower taxes than in the rest of Europe.

This doesn't mean the Irish situation is extremely urgent, because they are sufficiently funded until summer of 2011. Ofcourse the carry trade is behind this new media offensive.
